- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆I have been a steady user of UPS for many years,.but I would prefer to give no stars today. I shipped an expensive floor lamp several weeks ago FAR AWAY. They wrapped it. It arrived in pieces. This was a very sturdy bronze frame with a glass base. I know..I should have known better! So it arrived in pieces but remember..they wrapped it and it was insured also. It cost me over $200 for shipping. It was a wedding gift passed from my family to my daughter. A VERY nice sturdy floor lamp. The lamp arrived at the destination with the box split and the lamp completely broken. It could not be repaired. There was quite a hassle getting UPS to pick up the box and start the claim process from the other end due to the condition. finally the owner of the local store here went to bat for me. To make a long story short, I was reimbursed for the shipping and I thank the UPS store on Barrancas for helping to resolve this. But I would also suggest that if you have something truly valuable and/or breakable you might want to not ship it.
